Lorna Barger Mitchell passed away July 23, 2024. Her parents, William Paul and June Barger, purchased Holbrook Tribune-News, Snowflake Herald and Winslow Mail in 1969, and the family relocated to Holbrook. Lorna participated in the high school band, Pompoms and choir while she attended Holbrook schools.
Lorna dedicated herself to her career as a peer support counselor at Change Point, where she shared her compassionate nature and wisdom with countless individuals in need. After 15 years of service at the Holbrook Tribune, Lorna had transitioned to counseling, where she wholeheartedly committed herself to helping others.
A biker at heart, she found solace and camaraderie on the open road. Lorna’s passion for adventure and her free spirit endeared her to all who rode alongside her.
A devoted wife to Wendell Mitchell and a beloved mother to Patrick, Robert, Jonathan, Kelli, Justin, Cody and Chris, Lorna’s nurturing presence will forever resonate in the hearts of her adoring family and friends.
We invite all who knew and loved Lorna to join us in honoring her at the celebration of life in the future. Let us come together in friendship and remembrance, celebrating the journey of a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook handled the arrangements.
