Funeral services for Max Chase, 88, will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, June 10, at Winslow Funeral Home, located at 1505 W. 3rd St., in Winslow. A viewing will be held prior from 9 to 10 am. at the funeral Home. Burial will follow services at Desert View Cemetery.
Max Chase passed away in Payson, on June 5, 2024. He was born on June 24, 1935, in Castle Butte. His hobbies included silversmithing, auto mechanics and ranching. He worked with Burlington Northern Santa Fe and retired from there, as a forestry and heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by son, Victor Chase; daughters, Alma Lee, Ramona Kasper and Louise Chase; sister, Anne Yazzie; brother, Nelson Chase Sr.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Chase; brothers, Frederick Chase and Phillip Tsosie Sr.; sisters, Jane Taha and Maxine Nez; mother, Mary C. Tsosie; and sons, Donald, David and Norman Chase.
