NOTICE AND CALL OF SPECIAL ELECTION
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF JOSEPH CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2 OF NAVAJO COUNTY, ARIZONA:
A special election will be held in Joseph City Unified School District No. 2 of Navajo County, Arizona (the “District”), on November 5, 2024. The purpose of the election is to permit the qualified electors of the District to vote on authorizing the District to adopt a General Maintenance and Operation Budget that includes an amount of up to 15% in excess of the District’s revenue control limit for the fiscal year 2025/2026 and for six subsequent years (subject to certain reductions provided by statute in years six and seven).
The District’s current 15% budget override is by law required to be reduced by one-third in fiscal years 2025/2026 and 2026/2027. Because the existing override reduces by one third in fiscal year 2025/2026, the proposed budget will exceed the 2025/2026 alternate budget by one third of the override amount (approximately $232,532) and the District’s secondary tax rate to fund this amount is estimated to be $0.25 per one hundred dollars of net assessed valuation for secondary tax purposes. The full budget override amount is estimated to be $697,596 and would be funded by an estimated $0.75 tax rate per one hundred dollars of net assessed valuation for secondary property tax purposes, which is approximately equal to the current tax rate levied for the existing override. In future years the amount of the increase will be as provided by law.

Una elección especial se celebrará en el Distrito Escolar Unificado Núm. 2 de Joseph City del Condado de Navajo, Arizona (el “Distrito”), el 5 de noviembre de 2024. El propósito de la elección es permitir que los electores calificados del Distrito voten sobre si autorizan al Distrito para que adopte un Presupuesto de Operación y Mantenimiento General que incluye un importe de hasta un 15% sobre el límite de control de ingresos para el año fiscal 2025/2026 y por seis años subsiguientes (sujeto a ciertas reducciones especificadas por ley en el año seis y siete).
