Edward Joseph Coughlin Sr., was born on Feb. 21, 1960. He departed from us on May 15, 2024. Eddie lived his entire life in Winslow. He was an outstanding wrestler and a Golden Glove Boxer. He loved fishing, hunting, and co-ed softball. Eddie had the honor of showcasing in his home two of his hunting trophies. His family and friends have many tales of their hunting adventures.
Eddie was a lifelong fan of football. His favorite team was the Raiders. It didn’t matter what city claimed the Raiders he stayed true to his team. During the football season you could find him in front of the TV ranting and raving as his team played.
Eddie had three friends that were so close that he called them “brothers”: David “Boogie” Williams, Joey Lomeli and Jimmy Davis. These brothers would be hanging out, talking mess, or just doing what brothers do.
Eddie met his wife, Tancy during junior high school. Eddie asked his wife to the Feb. 14 Valentine’s Day dance, she said yes, and their life began. As they dated and later married, they learned from each other how to love and honor their life together. Yes, they were high school sweethearts or better yet, junior high school sweethearts.
Eddie was preceded in death by Joe and Jean Coughlin (parents), and Elaine Alamarez (sister). He leaves to cherish his memory, Tancy Coughlin wife of 41 years; his son, Edward Joseph Coughlin Jr.; daughter, Trishia Marie Coughlin; granddaughter, Anayeli Arvayo; mother-in-law, Ella Mae Renfro; and sister, Mary K VanHemert (John).
Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow handled the arrangements.
