Snowflake hit the ground running coming out of the holiday break. The Lobos won their first three games of the new calendar year, with all three being close contests.
They returned from the break with a 41-38 overtime win over Pima on Jan. 4, then kept up the close wins this past week. Playing a critical east region game in Winslow on Tuesday night, the Lobos prevailed 46-43. Friday night they added a second region notch to the win column with a 54-44 home court win over Payson.
Those two wins have the team ranked eighth in power points heading into this week’s action. The Lobos are 7-2 in regular-season contests. This week they travel to Window Rock on Wednesday to face a struggling Scouts team. Friday night they will be in Show Low taking on the 11th-ranked Cougars. Next Tuesday, Snowflake will host second-ranked Holbrook.
