Jason D. Sandoval Jr. passed away on Dec. 28, 2023, in Phoenix. He was born on July 29, 2002, in Winslow, AZ to Danica Warren-Sandoval and Jason Sandoval, Sr. He made an unforgettable grand entrance into this world. His mom went into labor while in Las Vegas and (with the help of highway patrol) she barely made it to the Winslow hospital in time to give birth. After his parents divorced, he was raised by his mom and stepfather, David Runyon.

He graduated from Winslow High School – Class of 2020. In high school, track was his passion and he successfully petitioned to save it when it was on the chopping block. He received a full track scholarship to Parks University and chose to pursue a Business Management degree. He attended one semester before COVID caused all in-person classes and team sports to shut down, which devastated him. Jason was too outgoing to be shut in and struggled with online classes. So, he decided to take a break from school.

He became a cell phone sales representative and quickly made a name for himself. He was acknowledged as the #1 salesperson in Winslow and the surrounding areas. As a direct result of his achievement, he became the manager of a cell phone store in Flagstaff.

In Flagstaff is where he met Kamehana Tachera. They became engaged in December 2022.

Jason was a very driven individual and determined to create his own success. He left Flagstaff to pursue other opportunities in Phoenix. While working on his dream, he continued work as a sales representative. He also invested in French Bulldogs from an established blood line. His pups were on their way to becoming champions and he was on his way to making his kennel a success.

Jason was an outgoing, friendly, funny, caring, beautiful, young man. He loved his crazy, huge family and a lot of his friends like family. He could make anyone laugh and his smile brightened everyone’s day. He adored his siblings and cherished his grandfather. The world lost a beautiful soul who will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his mother, Danica Warren; stepfather, David Runyon; father, Jason Sandoval, Sr; grandmother, Kathy Truett; grandfather, David Cy Sandoval; four brothers, Jason, Karmayne, K’Dan, and Kane; five sisters, Adriel, Tarren, Zayah, Karizma, and Kira. Also, he leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Zelda Betoney; grandfather, Donnie Warren; and aunt, Heather Betoney.

A viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Winslow Funeral Home, located at 1505 W. 3rd St. in Winslow. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Desert View Baptist Church, located at 101 Hipkoe, Winslow. Burial to follow in Desert View Cemetery.
