On Dec. 12, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 40 at milepost 269 near Joseph City. During the traffic stop, K-9 Zolton was deployed to perform a free-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert. A search of the vehicle revealed 30 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of over $544,000. Mayra Yasenia Loaiza Aguilar, 32, of California, was arrested for transportation of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of dangerous drugs. She was booked into Navajo County Jail and is being held on a $600,000 secured bond.
