Holbrook’s boys team won first place at the Dave Conaster Invitational meet held in Winslow on Friday afternoon. The Roadrunners finished with 42 team points. Coconino was second with 77, followed by Winslow in third with 99.
Holbrook’s top runner was Leyton Tom who finished fourth overall, with a time of 18:24. Kelton Reidhead finished sixth in 18:43. Kenneth Nez was seventh, with a time of 18:55. Ian Masayesva was 10th, with a time of 19:07. Travis Bia placed 15th, with a time of 19:45. Rylan Bia was 22nd with 20:06. Tristen Attakai finished 30th overall, with a time of 20:33. Sixty-four runners completed the race.
For the Lady Roadrunners Raelle Yazzie paced the team finishing 22nd overall, with a time of 24:09. Hannah Nez was 23rd, six seconds behind her teammate. Demia Gonnie was 45th, with a time of 30:59. Isabella Winslow finished 51st, with a time of 34:26, and Briannon Roanhorse was 52nd, crossing the line with a time of 37:43.
The Lady Roadrunners finished in seventh place as a team.
Holbrook will host their own large invitational meet on Oct. 20 at Hidden Cove Golf Course. This will also be the site of the AIA sectional qualifying meet held on Oct. 27.
