Winslow controlled game one winning it 25-11. Holbrook flipped the script taking game two 25-10. The tide turned back in Winslow’s favor in game three with a 25-21 win. The Bulldogs then closed out the match by winning game four, 25-16.
Holbrook traveled to Snowflake the following day to take on the third-ranked Lobos. Snowflake proved to have too much firepower for Holbrook defeating the Lady Birds in three straight games.
This week the Roadrunners have a busy week. They will have hosted sixth-ranked Show Low on Monday night, then will welcome in a struggling Blue Ridge team on Tuesday evening. On Thursday, they travel to take on a good St. Johns team, then on Saturday Holbrook will welcome in Window Rock for an afternoon contest with the varsity game scheduled for 1 p.m.
Holbrook entered this week ranked 22nd in the 3A power points. They need to remain inside the top 24 overall to have a chance to at least qualify for the 3A play-in games. Next Monday Holbrook will have Payson pay a visit to Munoz Gym. Holbrook is currently 4-5 in regular-season contests.
