The Lady Roadrunners split a pair of regular season matches last week prior to playing in the Epic Tourney Invitational over the weekend.
Playing both matches on the road they were victorious in Blue Ridge on Tuesday night winning the match in five games 3-2. Returning to the White Mountains on Thursday for a matchup with Show Low, they couldn’t keep that momentum going suffering a loss in three straight games 21-25, 20-25 and 12-25.
Holbrook played in the Gold Division of the Epic Tourney, joining Pusch Ridge, St. John Paul II and Page in pool play. The Ladies opened pool play Friday afternoon with a 1-2 loss to St. John Paul II. Later in the evening, they fell to Page in two games 0-2. Their nightcap game was another 0-2 loss, this time to Page.
In bracket play on Saturday, Holbrook fell to St. David in two games. That dropped them in the bracket where they picked up their only win of the tournament taking a set from Joseph City 2-0.
This week they return to regular season action with a home match vs Winslow on Tuesday. The next day they travel to take on powerful Snowflake. On Monday they will host the Cougars from Show Low.
Holbrook enters this week with a regular season mark of 4-3.
