One collision was investigated by Holbrook police officers during the period of March 22-28, according to dispatcher reports. At approximately 8:19 a.m. on Monday, March 27, a two vehicle, non-injury collision occurred at Fifth Avenue and West Erie Street. The vehicles involved were a black Volkswagen Passat driven by Ronald Attakai, 48, of Indian Wells and a gray Chrysler Pacifica driven by Julie Smith, 32, of Holbrook. According to the report, Attakai was traveling north on Fifth Avenue and attempted to turn west onto Erie Street when Smith, who was travel east on West Erie Street ran the stop sign and struck the rear driver side portion of Attakai’s vehicle. Smith was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
