Peggy Jean Clay Serio, 91, of RoEllen, Tenn., died on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at her residence in RoEllen, Tenn. Born Thursday, Aug. 10, 1931, in RoEllen, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Dudley Clay and the late Vivian Featherston Clay. Mrs. Serio was a retired educator and school teacher for the Holbrook Unified School District. She was a member of the RoEllen Baptist Church and the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Graveside services for Mrs. Serio will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, at Rehoboth Cemetery. Officiating this service will be Patrick Williams. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Carla Curran (Kevin) of Dyersburg, Tenn., and one grandson, Sean Curran of Austin, Texas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Anthony Serio; one son, William Anthony Serio; and two sisters, Annie Lee Clay and Emily Clay Watson. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
