Joseph City’s Founders Day was held last weekend and was made even more special as the community celebrated the sustenance provided by the dam that has allowed crops and families to grow in the community for the past 100 years. The first dam was built in 1876, shortly after the colonists arrived. Then for the next 18 years, 10 more dams were built. The 12th and final dam was built in 1923. The weekend festivities were filled with games, delicious food and great entertainment. It also provided the opportunity to commune with friends and family, and appreciate all that living in the small community provides.
