The Lado Lobos volleyball team held on to the top spot in the 3A rankings after cruising past a struggling Payson team on Oct. 5. The visiting Lobos improved their regular season record to 10-1 by winning the first three games of the Payson match.
The Lobos have six matches left on their schedule, with two matches each of the last three weeks of the regular season. Every team left on their schedule they have already beaten at least once this year so if they continue with that trend, they should be ranked either first or second when the state tournament begins in three weeks.
This week the team will play at Winslow on Tuesday and then host Payson on Thursday. Next week they will be in Show Low on Tuesday then welcome in Holbrook on Thursday.
