The long trip to Colorado City on Friday night resulted in a 10-point loss for the Wildcats. Both teams played well in the opening period with the Wildcats trailing 22-18 after one quarter. In the second, the two matched each other with eight points leaving the Cats trailing 30-26 at the half. Joseph City was the only team to score in the third and that touchdown put them on top 32-30 heading into the final quarter. El Capitan scored twice in the final stanza and held Joseph City scoreless to win the game 42-32.

With the loss, the Wildcats dropped to 3-2 on the season. This week they will travel to Mayer to face a Wildcat team that is winless on the season and has not been close in any of their five losses. Joseph City should be able to get back on the winning track in this game. They will need that win because in two weeks’ time they will face what will most likely be an unbeaten Williams team.
