The Lobos bounced back from their first defeat of the volleyball season with a pair of wins last week. Hosting a tough Valley Christian team on Tuesday, the Lady Lobos took five games but eventually prevailed with a win. They won the first game 25-19, then dropped the second 21-25. Game three went to Snowflake 26-24, but the Trojans flipped the script in game four winning it by the same score. The Lobos got the job done in the fifth winning the final game 15-8.
Livi Schneider led in kills with 19. Addy Fisher added 13; Braxton Jones, seven; and Lily Lundberg had six. The defense was led by Kadee Penrod with 15 digs. Schneider added 12. Braxton Jones was busy as a setter finishing the match with 38 assists.
Hosting Round Valley two days later the Lobos had a much easier time. They dispatched the Elks in three straight games, 25-5, 25-11, and 25-12.
This week the Lobos will be busy. After playing in Flagstaff on Monday, Snowflake will host their own “Be Like Nat” Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Their Friday schedule will be matchups with St. Johns, Window Rock and Safford. Saturday’s schedule will be determined by Friday’s results.
Next Tuesday they will return to east region play when they host Show Low.
Snowflake enters this week 5-1 in regular season matches.
