A City of Holbrook employee was injured on Feb. 28, falling from a ladder in the city’s wastewater treatment plant. According to public records, employee Lance Spencer was cleaning the biosolids area of the plant and missed a step between the fourth and fifth rung on the ladder, falling to the concrete floor below. His injuries were reported as a scalp hematoma, as well as an elbow contusion and abrasion. As the only employee assigned to the wastewater plant there was no one else in the facility at the time of the fall. Fortunately, Spencer was able to recover enough to contact his supervisor who contacted Human Resource, after which police and an ambulance were called. Spencer was transported to the Little Colorado Medical Center for treatment of his injuries and did not require hospitalization. It was recommended that Spencer not return to work until this week.
