Charles Anderson Our loving father, Charles Anderson, 91, went home to Our Lord on Feb. 23, 2022. Son of Theodore and Jenny Anderson, York Haven, Penn, the sixth of seven siblings, he attended school there. Charlie married Betty Mundis on Nov. 19,1949. He served as a Navy Reserve, stationed in Panama. He was employed at Bell Telephone Company, before moving to Arizona. He became a lineman in Holbrook at Western States Telephone Company, then later Contel until his retirement. Charlie was awarded the Customers Award in 1986. His joy was meeting people, being out in the community as their “Phone Man.” He was known for his sense of humor, living up to his April Fool’s birthday. Always a kind, caring man. His favorite saying was “Bye-cycle.” meaning not an end but coming around until we meet again. His girls were the loves of his life, teaching them how to play baseball and always being there for them and their families. He served in the Holbrook Volunteer Fire Department, loved bowling, fishing and hunting. Charlie cherished the Peace Lutheran Church. The world is a happier, better place because of him. He is survived by his “Charlie’s Angels,” Linda (William) Conover of Watertown, Wisc., Judi Standiford of Payson, and JoAnn DeWitt, Holbrook; seven grandchildren, Bill, Amy, Christopher, Michael, Amanda, Brittany and Jacob; and 23 great-grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeffrey; sons-in-law, Mike DeWitt and Art Standiford. Services are planned for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, at Peace Lutheran Church in Holbrook with Pastor Jeff Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Holbrook Cemetery. Bye-Cycle, Charlie.
