By Greg Perkins Hosting top ranked Mogollon in their season finale on Friday night the Wildcats were unable to pull off what would have been a major upset. The Mustangs didn’t let up against their rivals defeating the Wildcats 66-6. Mogollon is now 9-0 and has a firm stranglehold on the top overall seed in the 1A state playoffs. They are the heavy favorite to bring home another state football title to Heber. Second ranked St. David may be the only team that has a chance to upend what will more than likely be a perfect season for the Mustangs. For Joseph City, the loss ends a season in which the Wildcats managed just two wins this year against seven losses. They defeated Desert Heights Prep Academy 52-30 and took down Mayer 48-14 in a stretch where they won two of three games. Now Joseph City will look ahead to basketball and wrestling seasons which begin practices on Nov. 1.
