By Greg Perkins The Wildcats really needed to win their game played in Fredonia on Saturday afternoon to have any outside hope of making the 1A state playoffs. Unfortunately, with only the top 12 in the rankings advancing in the 1A bracket, the Wildcats who entered the game ranked 19th, needed a win and a ton of help. Fredonia was even more on the bubble entering the game ranked 13th and they may have done their job with a 38-30 win over Joseph City. The Wildcats have just two wins this season and with their final game being a match up with top ranked Mogollon it appears their season will come to a close on Friday when they host their rival. Mogollon is unbeaten and believed by many to be the heavy favorites to win another state football crown in the 1A level. Joseph City will host Mogollon beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15. The Wildcats will enter the game with a 2-5 overall record.
