By Greg Perkins Holbrook played their final two games of the season last week with two matchups against I-40 rival Winslow. The Bulldogs came in ranked inside the top 10 in the 3A rankings, while the Roadrunners were looking at their final two games of the season. The first game was in Holbrook on Tuesday with Roadrunner seniors Lorna Smith and Abrianna Belinte playing their final home games. The Lady Bulldogs took control early, scoring four runs in the first then adding six more in the second to lead 10-0. They scored their final three runs in the fourth. Holbrook tried to extend the game past the fifth inning with Natalie Patterson and Macy Moore hitting back-to-back home runs in the fifth. But three runs were all they would get in the 13-3 five inning loss. Patterson went 1 for 3, as did Madison Moore and Sarah Slim. Elizabeth Paschal was 1 for 2 and Macy Moore went 1 for 2. Tiffani Tyler pitched five innings giving up 13 runs on 16 hits, with a walk and two strikeouts. Playing the season finale in Winslow on Thursday, Holbrook scored once in the top of the first but fell behind quickly with the host team scoring six runs in the bottom of the first. Holbrook added a second run in the third, but the Bulldogs closed the game out with three in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the bottom of the fifth winning the game 12-2 at that point. Tiffani Tyler and Macy Moore each hit solo home runs. Madison Moore was 1 for 3; Tiffani Tyler, 1 for 2; Macy Moore, 1 for 2; and Angelique Tyler, 1 for 1. Patterson worked four innings in the circle giving up 12 runs on 10 hits, with three walks and five strikeouts. Holbrook finished their season with an overall record of 3-15.
