By Greg Perkins A busy week for the Lady Roadrunners ended with four games in the loss column, with three of the four coming in convincing fashion. After playing Show Low to a one run game in their first meeting the Cougars downed Holbrook 26-0 in their second match up, which was in Show Low on Tuesday. The Cougars scored 10 first inning runs and never looked back. Holbrook had just four hits in the game with Madison Moore getting half those going 2 for 3. Tiffani Tyler worked one inning allowing three runs on four hits. Holbrook was in Whiteriver on Friday taking on the Lady Falcons. Alchesay scored four runs in the bottom of the first, but Holbrook countered with six runs in the top of the third. The Falcons tied the game with two in the home half of the third. Alchesay moved in front by one with a run in the fifth, then the teams matched each other with three runs apiece in the sixth inning. Neither team scored in the seventh leaving Holbrook on the wrong side of a 10-9 final score. Macy Moore went 2 for 3 with a homer. Sarah Slim also hit a home run. Lorna Spencer was 1 for 2 with a double; Elizabeth Pascal, 1 for 4 with a double; Riley Reidhead, 1 for 2; Moore, 3 for 4; Aubrey Belinte, 1 for 2; and Angelique Tyler was 1 for 2. Patterson pitched six innings giving up 10 runs on 10 hits with one walk and six strikeouts. Holbrook welcomed Round Valley on Saturday for two games. The first game saw the Elks jump out to a 6-1 lead through two innings. Holbrook tried to make a game of it with two runs in the third, but the visitors finished Holbrook off with four in the fourth and two final runs in the fifth. Speers went 2 for 3; Tyler, 1 for 2 with a double; and Belinte, Talyssa Larson, Paschal, and Slim each had one hit. Tyler pitched five innings giving up 13 runs on 10 hits with 5 walks and four strikeouts. The second game was just a one-run game through the first two frames, but in the top of the third, the Elks took control with six runs. They added two in the fourth and really put the game out of reach with seven runs in the fifth inning. Holbrook scored their only run in the fifth of the 16-1 loss. Holbrook had just four hits with Moore, Patterson, Tyler, and Celina Leyba each collecting one hit. Patterson pitched 4.1 innings giving up 14 runs on 14 hits with six walks and three strikeouts. Kamele Shelendewa pitched two-thirds of an inning giving up two runs on three hits with one walk.
