Conner On a windy Tuesday last week, the Winslow Bulldogs hosted the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets who started the first inning with Gunner Martinez scoring on an error, then Cody Wallace hitting a single and scoring an RBI. Teammate Tyson Threadgill would hit a single, also with an RBI, making the score 3-03-0. Two more runs gave Blue Ridge a score of 5-0. In the bottom of the first, Bulldog Jace Lyons scored on an error and in the bottom of the third inning Sonny Wilbanks would hit a double and bring in a run to close the gap to 5-2. In the bottom of the fourth Zane Corum would hit a single and scored a run but in the sixth inning the Yellowjackets would increase the lead with a Gage Martinez single with an RBI followed by a Gunner Martinez single and RBI to make the score 7-3. In the bottom of the sixth inning Winslow’s Teagan Chacon would score the final run of the game on a passed ball, making the final score Blue Ridge, 7 and Winslow, 4. Winslow pitcher Sonny Wilbanks went six innings with seven hits, seven runs and five strikeouts. Winslow had six errors.
