By Greg Perkins The Wildcats were looking for their first win of the season with a visit to Alchesay on Tuesday last week but the Falcons had other ideas. Hosting the winless Wildcats the 1-6 Falcons scored twice in the home half of the first inning then added one more in the third, three more in the fifth, and two in the bottom of the sixth to lead 8-0 before Joseph City scored their only two runs in the top of the seventh of the 8-2 Falcon win. Joseph City scattered five hits in the loss. Avery Buckley, Bannon Johnstun, Owen Beatty, Tyler Penrod and T. J. Westover each had one hit, with Buckley going for a double. Buckley pitched 5.1 innings on the hill, giving up seven runs on seven hits, with three walks and struck out seven. Johnstun pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing a single run on two hits with two strikeouts. Friday had the Wildcats make the long trip to Bagdad where they fell to the Sultans 10-0 in six innings. Bagdad scored single runs in the first and second, then opened the game up with five in the third. Joseph City managed just two hits against Bagdad pitching in the shut-out loss. This week the 0-5 Wildcats will have four opportunities for that elusive first win. After playing at Round Valley on Monday, and hosting Williams on Tuesday, they will host Ash Fork in a doubleheader contest on Friday. Next Tuesday will be another doubleheader also on their home field when they host Mayer.
