By Greg Perkins The Lady Wildcats finally got their season off the ground last week going 3-1 in their four games played. They opened their season at home with a doubleheader contest vs St. Michaels on Tuesday. The Cats won the first game in a slugfest 18-17. The second game went to the Cardinals by a final of 18-10. On Thursday the Lady Wildcats played host to St. Johns and the two teams combined for 30 runs. Fortunately, the Wildcats were owners of 17 of those runs in a 17-13 home field win. The following day Joseph City made the short trip to Holbrook where they exploded for four runs in the third and added six more in the fourth to gain control of the game. Holbrook battled back with four in the fourth and two in the sixth, but Joseph City went on to win the game 13-7 for their third win of the week. Four games are on the docket this week as well. After playing in Alchesay on Tuesday the team will host Sedona on Thursday. On Friday they travel to Bagdad for a doubleheader contest with the Sultans. Next Monday they will be in Round Valley for a doubleheader, then on Tuesday, April 13, Joseph City will host Williams. A slow start to the season will change with seven games played over the course of the next week.
