Founders Day4

By Linda Kor Joseph City residents, old and new came together to celebrate 145 years of community, heritage and family. The day featured a parade featuring Grand Marshal Brantley Baird (seated on the far left in the above photo), a fireman’s barbecue, games, a family dance and more. Joseph City was settled in 1876 by colonists who were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This band of 73 pioneers was led by Captain William C. Allen. It was one of four Little Colorado colonies settled here and the only one that remains.
