By Greg Perkins The Lobos’ size and athleticism were too much for Holbrook to overcome on Tuesday night at Munoz Gym. Snowflake got four points from Conner Hall in the first, then had balanced scoring in the second, building a 22-14 halftime lead. They held Holbrook to their third consecutive seven-point period in the third, extended their lead to 12 points in the process. Holbrook made a run in the fourth, but Snowflake was able to hold off the Roadrunners and remain unbeaten on the season with a 48-40 road win. Junior guard Noah Baum led the Lobos in scoring with 11 points. Stewart West added 9; Conner Hall, 7; Gannon Larson, 7; McKay Wood, 6; Michael Brimhall, 4; and Kaiden Brewer helped with 2. Playing in Lakeside on Friday, the Lobos picked up their 12th consecutive win of the season with a 68-56 win over the Yellowjackets. That victory kept them unbeaten on the season and will most likely keep them ranked second in the 3A power rankings when they are released on Tuesday. Valley Christian sits in the top spot and looking at their schedule they look to remain unbeaten on the season and will most likely hold on to the top spot. Snowflake on the other has a much tougher schedule down the stretch. After hosting an upset-minded Payson team on Tuesday, who is coming in fresh off an overtime win over Holbrook, they will travel to take on third ranked Winslow on Friday. On Saturday, Snowflake will welcome in a talented Thatcher team. Next Tuesday Snowflake puts a wrap on the regular season with a short trip to St. Johns.
