By Greg Perkins The Lady Lobos are keeping pace with their male counterparts with both teams heading into this week with perfect 7-0 records. Snowflake picked up two more wins last week with both contests helping them stay atop the east region standings. Hosting Blue Ridge on Tuesday, the Lobos had little problems handling an outmatch Yellowjacket team. Emily Davis, facing little resistance in the paint had a big night scoring as she led the Lobos with a 20-point performance. She also pulled down 10 boards in the contest. Macee Lesueur added 7; Azure Green, 6; Hannah Nichols, Trystan Hancock, Kadee Penrod, Kimberlee Eich, Marynda Caldwell, and Kamri Ballard each netted four points; and Kaelynn Hipps and Brooklyn Greer both scored 2 points in the win. Snowflake shot just two free throws in the win with Lesueur going one for two at the line. As a team they went 0-6 at the three-point line but put up an impressive 70 overall field goal attempts. Playing in Payson on Friday, the Lobos again had an easy time of it. The Lobo defense held the Longhorns to just points in the 67-32 road win, which pushed their record to 7-0. Snowflake will be tested this week. After hosting just a two-loss Winslow team on Tuesday, they will host Show Low on Thursday. On Saturday a long road trip to Page to take on the unbeaten and possibly best team in 3A Sand Devils will test the Lobo offense. Page, long known for their defense has held their past four opponents to less than 20 points in four straight wins. Next Tuesday, Snowflake will host a quickly improving Holbrook team, which they beat in their first match up two weeks ago.
