By Greg Perkins Snowflake’s record remained unblemished on the season with two relatively easy east region wins last week. Hosting Blue Ridge on Tuesday, the Lobos doubled up the Jackets in the first period, then held Blue Ridge to just two points in the second taking control of the game. Snowflake led 28-9 at the half, then outscored Blue Ridge by nine in the second half to secure the 57-29 win. Friday’s road game in Payson was a battle through the first eight minutes where the two squads fought to a 12-12 tie. In the second and third Snowflake’s defense rose up allowing Payson to just seven points in each frame while their office sparked for 46 points over that same span. Both teams struggled to score in the fourth with a running clock, but the Lobos moved their season mark to 7-0 with a 67-31 road win. After hosting Winslow on Tuesday in a battle of unbeaten teams, the Lobos will host Show Low on Thursday then travel to Page for a tough match up with the 3-2 Sand Devils on Saturday. Next Tuesday Snowflake will play at Holbrook.
