Police WANTED

At approximately 8:53 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, Holbrook Police responded to the TA Truck Plaza, located on Interstate 40 and Exit 283, for a reported carjacking. Police say the victims were sitting in their car when two armed subjects approached. One subject was armed with a handgun the other with a knife. They forced the victims out at gun point and fled in the vehicle. The victims were unsure of the direction of flight and the suspect description was vague. They were described as two Hispanic males. The car stolen was a black Toyota SUV. According to witnesses the suspects were reported to be hanging around the building just prior to the carjacking. This is the second reported carjacking in as many days. The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office had a similar incident on Jan. 7 at the Hopi Travel Plaza. The vehicle stolen in that incident was a Toyota pickup. Holbrook Police urge citizens to pay attention to their surroundings and report any suspicious behavior.
