Baseball 2 Snowflake 1

Snowflake kept their perfect regular season record in tact on March 10 with an 8-1 home field win over Florence. Anna Berger had complete control in the game, striking out 15 of the 25 batters she faced. She gave up just one run in the top of the seventh inning on two hits, with a pair of walks along with her hefty strikeout total.

Snowflake broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth with two runs. The Lobos added five more in the bottom of the fifth and scored their final run in the sixth.

Taryn Flake led the way at the plate going two for four, with a double and scored two runs. Maren Berger went one for two, with a double, three RBI and scored once. Anna Berger was one for three with a triple. Taylee Craner went one for three, with a RBI and scored once. Heather Whipple went one for two, with a RBI and also scored once.

Maren Berger, Craner and Whipple each stole one base.

With the win, the Lady Lobos improved to 4-0 on the season. They were scheduled to play in the Hamilton softball tournament this week, however, with all schools closed by the governor for at least the next two weeks, Snowflake will join the rest of the teams in waiting to see if and when their season will resume.

The AIA was scheduled to meet on Monday morning to determine the course of action for the remaining spring sports season.
