The Winslow Bulldogs defeated the Chinle Wildcats 5-3 on March 9 at Winslow. The win left the Bulldogs with an excellent 8-1 record for the young season and dropped Chinle to an even 2-2.
The Bulldogs scored three in the first inning and one each in the third and fourth innings. Chinle trailed 5-1 in the sixth inning when they scored twice. Alex Vargas continued the good pitching Winslow had demonstrated in their second-place finish in the Florence tournament as he limited the Wildcats to three runs on just six hits.
The Bulldogs will play at Window Rock on Tuesday, March 18, with their next home game the next day against the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets.
