Snowflake played just one game last week before their season was put on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak. Hosting Florence on March 10, the Lobos prevailed 5-1 in a game that had all the scoring take place in the first two innings. The Lobos scored twice in the bottom of the first, then saw the Gophers cut that lead to one with their only run scored in the top of the second.
Snowflake added the final three runs of the game in the bottom of the second.
Neither team scored the rest of the way leaving Snowflake with the four-run win.
The Lobos finished with six hits lead by Devin Hiller who went two for three, with a pair of RBI and scored a run. Brevin Matthews was one for three, with a double and two RBI. Ricky Munger went one for two scoring once. Garrett Wood was two for three.
Munger pitched a complete game giving up just one run on only three hits, with two walks and seven strikeouts.
With the win the Lobos improved to 4-5 overall on the season and they are now 1-3 in regular season games.
With the closing of all schools for at least the next two weeks, Snowflake is uncertain when their season will resume. The AIA was scheduled to meet on Monday to determine when and if the spring sports season continues.
