The Lobos basketball team played their second tournament in back-to-back weekends and still managed to book end those tournaments around a regular season 66-41 home court win over Safford on Tuesday.

Hosting the Bulldogs on Tuesday night, Snowflake won in impressive style, with a 66-41 home court win. That win along with their season opening win over Ganado has Snowflake sitting at 2-0 in regular season power point contests.

In the past two weekends the Lobos have played a total of 11 ball games. While none of them count towards the final season standings it was still a chance for the Lobos to head towards the break with their team focusing on January and February.

On Thursday, the Lobos opened play in the Nackard Holiday Tournament held in Flagstaff. Snowflake matched up with Arizona Lutheran in the morning and fought off a tough Coyote team to win the game 60-50.

Thursday evening the Lobos faced Green Valley, from Henderson, Nev., and came up seven points short in a 50-57 loss.

They returned to Flagstaff early Saturday morning and they were definitely awake when they hammered Sedona. Snowflake won the early morning game, 90-60. Later in the afternoon the Lobos faced off with the host team Eagles and came up just one point short in a 59-58 final outcome.

Snowflake’s flip flop ways continued on Saturday morning when they dismantled Basis Flagstaff 62-24. On Saturday afternoon it was their final game and their win one, lose one, pattern continued with a 63-52 loss to Lee Williams.

After playing at Florence on Tuesday of this week in regular season action, Snowflake will be on the road again at Valley Sanders on Thursday night. On Saturday, the Lobos host Page in a 4 p.m. tip-off. That Page contest will be their final game before returning to action on Jan. 10 when they host St. Johns.

Snowflake is currently 7-6 overall on the season.
