With the football season close to wrapping up, the All Region selections have been announced for the 3A East. League champion Payson placed 10 players on the All-Region First Team. Blue Ridge had four and Show Low five.
Of the area local teams Snowflake led the way with six players including Payson Cardon, Coy Swarts, Terren Green, Jordan Patton, Nick Mcvicker and Brig Turley.
Winslow had three players Britt Alcott, Leeander Keams and Mason Scott on the team.
Holbrook’s Tyson Begay was selected to the All-Region First Team as well.
Tyson was also selected to the second team for defense. He was joined on the All-Region Second Team by Malakai Johnson, Tyrell Yazzie, Talon Foster, Gabe Baker and Tyson Begay.
Snowflake’s second team All-Region selections were Welcome Chapman, Bradly Ruiz, David Ruiz, Austin Belisle, Samuel Crockett, Jacob Ballard, Ethan Ramage and Terren Green.
Winslow’s second team All-Region selections were Robert Wilbanks, Mason Scott and Canyon Brimhall.
Payson placed three players on the list, Blue Ridge had three and Show Low five players on the list.
The East Region Player of the Year was Blue Ridge’s PJ London. Cal Fawcett of Show Low was named the Region Defensive Player of the Year and Payson’s Trevor Cline was selected as the Region Offensive Player of the Year.
Bryan Burke of Payson was selected as the Region Coach of the Year.
Holbrook players named to the honorable mention team were Myron Begay, John O’Brien, Marcus Oberriter and Izzy Ramos.
Winslow’s honorable mention players were Cylis Gonzalez, Aiden Kislingbury, Jace Lyons and Braden Williams.
Snowflake had Taylor Flake Treven Hensley, David Ruiz and Carter Solomon on the honorable mention list.
