The Winslow Bulldogs, with a 7-1 record and a chance at winning the 3A East Region and 3A Conference playoff berth, will be going into their most crucial home playoff game on Friday against the Payson Longhorns. Payson is also 7-1 and also a contender for the regional championship and a playoff berth.

Winslow’s last game of the regular season is at Snowflake, which is also a contender for both the regional championship and a playoff berth. The Lobos have a 6-2 record including an overtime loss to Payson. Wins against Show Low and Winslow could get them a playoff berth and, with a few breaks, a regional title.

The other possible playoff contender and possible regional champion is the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets who are 6-2 with a win over Winslow in the season opener and a loss to Snowflake. They have a crucial game at Payson on Nov. 1 after hosting Holbrook on Friday.
