Winslow is riding a six game win streak including last week’s upset 8-7 win over Show Low. The Bulldogs are ranked 13th in the current 3A standings while Holbrook is on the bottom of the 3A list. Last week Holbrook got down early to Payson and never really had a chance. If the Roadrunner defense doesn’t play better than last week they could find themselves looking at an uphill battle from the onset. Winslow won this match up last year 50-0. Holbrook has moved the ball on offence in recent weeks, but have been unable to finish off drives. They will get on the board in this game, but the Bulldogs will easily move to 7-1.

Snowflake is coming off a big emotional win over Blue Ridge last week. If the Lobos stumble in this game, Payson could upset them. The Longhorns are dangerous on offense, with a superb quarterback and a lot of team speed. Payson is physically large and can match the Lobos in that regard. Snowflake has the better rushing attack, but playing in Payson may level that match up a little. Both teams are 5-1 coming into this game, however, the Lobos are ranked 4th, while Payson is ranked 20th. This game may be closer than most think, but Snowflake should be the team which moves to six wins..

Joseph City will play at Fort Thomas on Thursday night. The Apaches come into the game with a 3-4 record while the Wildcats are 4-2. The only common opponent between the two is Valley Union who Fort Thomas beat by forty points, and Joseph City defeated by 22 points. Based solely on that fact, it appears the Apaches have a decided advantage. Joseph City also moved up to #7 in the 1A rankings with last week’s win over NFL Yet. The long road trip may hinder the Wildcats a little, but look for them to continue to rise in the rankings after picking up a tough road win on Thursday night. This game should be very close, but the Wildcats have played a tougher overall schedule and need the win to stay inside the top eight in the standings with only one regular season game left on their schedule.
