Holbrook’s softball team is still clinging to hopes of post season action but they are down to two games left on the schedule. More than likely they will need to win at least one of those two to qualify for the 3A play in games. Holbrook is currently ranked 26th in the power points, and needs to make the top 24 to qualify.

Hosting highly ranked Snowflake on Monday afternoon the Lady Roadrunners found their chances grim early on. Snowflake posted four runs in both the first and second innings grabbing an 8-0 lead. The Roadrunners scored once in the third, but that would be their only offensive output. Snowflake ended the game under the mercy rule with a three run fifth for a final of 11-1.

Holbrook will finish out the regular season with two road games. They travel to Blue Ridge on Thursday, then will be in Show Low on Monday. If they can’t get at least one of those two games, their season will more than likely be over after Monday’s game at Show Low. Holbrook enters the final two games with a 3-13 regular season record.
