The Roadrunners earned that position by virtue of their dominating performance over visiting Show Low in Friday night’s regular season finale. Holbrook drained 11 three-point shots against the much taller Cougars enroute to a 57-31 win.

Holbrook led by four after the first frame and they were up by seven at the break. The third period was the clincher. The Roadrunners caught fire from distance draining seven three-point shots in the quarter, with two each from Anthony Nelson, Blayne Nelson and Damien Clark. Holbrook needed someone to step up with the loss of outside shooter Kobi Koerperich for the season and thus far his teammates have filled in nicely.

With a win on Wednesday night, the Roadrunners will move on to face a familiar foe, as No. 4 Winslow awaits the Holbrook/Coolidge winner. That game will be played on Saturday at a neutral site yet to be determined as of press time. Holbrook is 15-12 overall and 10-7 in regular season games. The Coolidge Bears are 14-13 overall and they finished with a 9-8 regular season mark.
