Snowflake’s Lady Lobos struggled in the beginning of the season, but they entered Tuesday’s game at Holbrook on a roll having won their first three games of the New Year with all three wins coming in action last week. After dropping their first seven regular season games under first year coach Joseph Clare, the Lobos seem to have found their game and meshed with the new regime.

Each of Snowflake’s three wins last week were played on their home floor, and each game was close. Blue Ridge fell victim to the Lobos on Tuesday night with a 53-51 Snowflake win. Friday night was another nail biter with the Lobos outlasting a much taller Payson team 38-35. On Saturday, the ladies came back from a double-digit second half deficit to upend last year’s state runner up Monument Valley. Saturday’s game saw a Lobo team which never gave up and rallied late in the game to secure their third consecutive close win with a 36-33 final outcome.
