“For the last two census’ Arizona had done great,” noted Mitchell. “We added another seat in Congress. Having a good count can mean additional dollars from the federal government as the U.S. distributes money based on these counts.”

In addition to the partnership launch this year, the Census Bureau also will be establishing complete count committees and opening the remaining 248 area census offices throughout the United States.

In the 2020 Census handout distributed by Mitchell it was noted, “In 2020, we (the Census Bureau) will implement new technology to make it easier than ever to respond to the census. For the first time, you will be able to respond online, by phone, as well as by mail. We will use data that the public has already provided to reduce follow up visits.”
