Snowflake’s girls team will have a new face on the sidelines for the first time in over 20 seasons. Long time head coach Don Godfrey stepped down after last season opening the door for first year head coach Joseph Clare. Coach Clare takes over a team, which went 7-11 in regular season games a year ago before losing out to Tuba City in the first round of the state tournament. Snowflake will open their season next Tuesday when they travel to Ganado. On Dec. 4 they will be on the road to Safford.
Andy Wood once again is at the helm of the boys Lobo program. Last season the Lobos went 13-5 in regular season games, which was good enough to receive a first round bye in the state tournament. Snowflake’s season came to a close in the second round of the state tournament with a loss to Empire. This year, like the girls team, the boys will open the season on the road next Tuesday at Ganado. They will also travel to Safford for a Dec. 4 match up with the Bulldogs.
