By Greg Perkins Through the first 12 minutes of play it looked like the Snowflake and Show Low football rivalry would live up to it’s tradition, but by the time the dust had settled the second ranked Lobos easily took care of the 15th ranked Cougars 41-6. This win snapped a three game Lobo losing streak to Show Low. Ethan Ramage’s 43-yard scoring toss to Sam Ruehle midway through the second period broke a scoreless tie. Samuel Crockett’s point after kick gave the Lobos the 7-0 lead. In the final minutes of the half Ramage threw his second touchdown pass of the game, this time finding Brigden Turley on a nine-yard route. Crockett’s point after gave Snowflake a 14-0 half-time lead. That margin expanded to 21-0 early in the third period following a 13-yard scoring run by David Brimhall. Later in the period Turley scored on a seven yard rushing touchdown advancing the score to 28-0. Snowflake’s defense got in on the act when Jesse Sparks returned a blocked punt for a score, making the lead 35-0. Following Show Low’s only score of the game in the final period, Turley found the endzone on an eight-yard run for the game’s final points. With the win the Lobos improved their season mark to 8-1, while the Cougars fell to 3-6. Ramage was perfect on the night completing all eight of his passes for 162 yards with two touchdowns. Sam Ruehle had two catches for 55 yards with one touchdown. Jake Christensen had two receptions for 45 yards. Traegon Standerfer caught 2 for 29, Brimhall had one for 14 yards, and Turley had one nine-yard touchdown catch. Brimhall led the ground attack with 81 yards and a score on 10 tries. Turley gained 55 yards on nine runs scoring twice. Ramage had 12 yards, Jake Christensen 11, Ethan Walker 5, Terren Green 5 and Sam Ruehle had 2 yards. Snowflake will close out the regular season at Winslow on Friday. The Bulldogs are coming off their upset win over Payson, which knocked the Longhorns out of the playoff hunt and kept the Bulldogs with playoff hopes.
