Joseph City knew they had a big task ahead of them when Williams came to town on Friday night. The Vikings came in averaging over 60 points per game and unfortunately for Wildcat fans they lived up to that number with a 71-14 win over the Wildcats.

Williams piled up 36 first quarter points and led 49-8 at the half. They scored just once in the third period then added their final 14 points in the fourth quarter. Joseph City scored once in the first period on a Latrell Kinlicheenie to Cameron Baldwin 21-yard scoring strike. Carlos Sanchez Osorio caught the conversion pass, making the score at that point 14-8. From that point on, the Vikings quickly piled up the points.

Williams had seven scoring plays that covered at least 50 yards. Joseph City’s final score came early in the fourth period on a Latrell Kinlicheenie 12-yard rush.

Latrell Kinlicheenie completed 12 of 36 passes for 170 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. Jay Edwards led the receiving group with three catches for 73 yards. Cameron Baldwin also caught three covering 44 yards with one score. BJ Martineau had one 31-yard reception. KJ Kinlicheenie caught one for 18 yards and Sanchez Osorio had a four-yard catch.

Williams defense was nearly as dominate as their offense, holding what is usually a strong Wildcat rushing game to only 62 total yards. Baldwin gained 38 yards on 13 rushes. Latrell Kinlicheenie picked up 31 yards on 10 rushes. Damon Sandoval finished with negative yards on four attempts.

Baldwin paced the Wildcat defense with 12 tackles. Sanchez Osorio, Martineau, Eligh Ashcroft and Porter Thomas each finished with four tackles.

This week the Wildcats, now 2-2, will travel to El Capitan on Saturday afternoon.
