The Lady Wildcats have struggled to find wins this season, but came close on Tuesday of last week with 40-39 loss to visiting Mayer. Friday’s game at Mogollon wasn’t nearly as exciting with the seventh ranked Lady Mustangs handing the Wildcats a 72-12 defeat.
Things didn’t get much better on Saturday when the Wildcats failed to score in double figures in any of the four periods in a 66-25 home court loss to Grand Canyon.
The Lady Wildcats have just three weeks left in the season and with a 2-9 regular season record their post season hopes are dim. They entered this week ranked 29th in 1A and need to find a way to climb into the top 16 to extend their season.
Joseph City will host Mogollon on Thursday, then travel to Ash Fork on Saturday. Three of their five season wins this year are against Ash Fork.
