The Lady Lobos drew a split in two soccer matches played last week with a 2-0 home field win over Holbrook on Tuesday followed by a 4-1 loss on Saturday at Show Low.

In the Holbrook match Snowflake scored once in each half. Talitha Brown and Emily Rolow each found the back of the net in the win. Snowflake kept Holbrook’s goalkeeper busy with 20 shots on goal, with just the two finding the mark against Holbrook’s fine goalie, Holly Hill.

Snowflake used three keepers in the match, with Taylee Craner, Haylee Finch and Rolow combining to finish with five saves in the shutout win.

Things didn’t go quite as well in Show Low on Saturday as the Lady Cougars turned back Snowflake 4-1.

Snowflake will head into the Old Pueblo Soccer Classic this weekend in Tucson with a 2-4 overall record. The Lady Lobos will face Chino Valley and Blue Ridge on Friday, then match up against Camp Verde and Payson on Saturday.

The Snowflake boys’ team is now 4-3 on the season after splitting their two matches last week.

Hosting Blue Ridge on Wednesday, the Lobos came out on the wrong end of a 4-0 final. The team bounced back nicely with a 4-2 win at Round Valley on Friday.

This weekend they will join their female counterparts in Tucson, where they will face Willcox and Camp Verde on Friday, followed by matches against Desert Christian and Chino Valley on Saturday.
