The Holbrook boys’ soccer team broke a string of losses by battling Ash Fork/Seligman to a 2-2 tie last Friday afternoon. Dating back to Sept. 13, the Roadrunners had fallen to Round Valley, Snowflake and Show Low by identical 8-1 outcomes. Their 2-2 tie in Ash Fork, while not a win, may give the team a boost as they head into action this week.
After hosting Payson on Monday, the Birds will travel to St. Johns today (Sept. 27). This weekend they will travel to Tucson to compete in the Old Pueblo Classic. Holbrook will face Ash Fork and Chino Valley on Friday, then close out the Classic with matches against Camp Verde and Benson on Saturday.
The Roadrunners are currently 0-5-1 in regular season matches.
