During the Aug. 8 meeting of the Holbrook City Council, City Manager Randy Sullivan outlined opportunities for residents to clean up their yards at no cost and, in turn, beautify the city.
He explained that in this month’s water bill there will be three vouchers valued at $10 each that can be used for a free dumping at the transfer station. “Usually, a truck full is two yards and we charge $10 for that, so this will cover three dumps. If it’s more than two yards they can use two vouchers or have it put on their bill,” said Sullivan. Any customer who has auto draft or has opted out of receiving water bills by mail can come to the city offices to obtain their three vouchers.
On Thursday, Aug. 24, city workers will be going around town to pick up metal recyclable materials, including appliances. Residents are encouraged to clean up their yards and place all items of this nature next to the road in front of their homes for pickup on that day. Sullivan said that yard trash can also be picked up on that day. For more information, contact the city offices at (928) 524-6225.
