A Winslow man was arrested April 14 after officers responded to Motel 6 located at 520 W. Desmond St. to investigate a report of suspicious activity in one of the rooms. In addition, information was provided that a weapon was seen during the morning cleaning of the room. Officers contacted the tenant of the room, Erik Vargas, 34. A consent search was conducted, and officers reportedly found narcotics, stolen credit cards and a BB gun. Vargas was found to be a prohibited possessor and was booked into the Navajo County Jail in Holbrook on charges of misconduct involving weapons, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of stolen property.
