The Lady Lobos won their two final regular season games and moved to 15th in the power rankings at the beginning of this week. There are a few games yet to be played around the state, but if the Snowflake squad remains inside the top 16 in the rankings, it would host a first round state tournament game next week. If the Lobos drop to 17th or lower, they will be on the road. The final rankings won’t be known until Saturday.

Snowflake finished the regular season in third place in the East Region behind Holbrook and Winslow. As the three seed the Lobos were scheduled to host sixth seeded Show Low on Tuesday night. With a win they would travel to Winslow on Thursday, Feb. 9, for the rubber match with the Lady Bulldogs, as each team has won on their home court. With a win they would face either Holbrook, Blue Ridge or Payson in the regional title game on Friday night at the site of the higher seed.

Region tournament games do not count toward power point rankings, but give the teams a chance to stay focused for the state tournament.

The Lobos got to this point with a resounding 58-18 win over Show Low last Tuesday. On Friday they came back from a fourth quarter deficit to defeat Blue Ridge 49-46 in the regular season finale.
